Schools Programmes : Enterprise

Overview

An imaginative, high-energy and fast-moving KS4 work related learning programme, designed to introduce students to the world of work and why it is important for them to be enterprising and be able to adapt to change.

Delivered by enthusiastic business professionals who are able to animate the engaging material with loads of personal anecdotes, this programme gives students a lively overview of the economy, why businesses need to be successful and what qualities employers really value in their staff.

Profit and its importance to sustaining businesses and jobs is explained, as are not-for profit and social business concepts. The programme involves students communicating and working together in non-friendship teams to complete team challenges and by the end of the programme students have experienced many simulated business experiences.

Students are required to complete feedback questionnaires and results are summarised for the school. Student feedback is generally exceptionally positive, with many students valuing the opportunity to meet and work with new people from the same year group.
