Job Application, Interview and Recruitment – KS4

An imaginative, fast-moving, work-related learning programme focusing on the key skills your students need to sell themselves in the outside world. The selection and recruitment process is fully covered and we reinforce the importance of the students adopting a personal ‘marketing’ strategy to increase their employability.

Giant Impact recognise that getting a job offer is a key life skill and students leaving school today face even greater competition for jobs, whether they are looking for an Apprenticeship* or Employment. Our programme can help your students prepare for this challenge ahead by giving them that vital edge to get the all important ‘YES’ from an employer.

Our practical guidance on the day will help your students to:

• complete an excellent application form
• get a job interview
• prepare for the interview, and
• perform well at their interview

Additionally, other key elements are woven into this programme including:

• what qualities employers really value in their staff
• the importance of having a positive “can-do” attitude
• why taking responsibility for personal development will help prepare them for the world of work

Overall the programme involves students:

• communicating and working together collaboratively in non-friendship teams, solving problems and completing practical team challenges
• often developing new friendships and a greater respect for the hidden talents of other team members
