Study For Work - KS4

Like all our programmes, this is action-packed, fast-moving and enjoyable. This WRL programme will improve your students’ study skills to get better qualifications. It will focus on the important link between ‘study now→better job→better pay →more life choices later’.

This exciting and motivational programme highlights for students why they should take personal responsibility for improving their own learning and how they can use different methods to help them develop a personal study plan.

We will help students develop the CBI’s seven “employability” skills and the six personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS). Fundamental to both these frameworks is developing the right ‘can-do’ attitude.

Our programme will give your students:

  • a reminder of the VAK learning styles – visual, auditory and kinaesthetic – students are encouraged to adopt techniques that are most suited to their own personal learning style.
  • an understanding of memory improvement- how their brain stores and recalls information
  • study & learning tips - using a combination of stimuli (seeing, hearing, speaking, writing, doing); ‘teaching’ material to their fellow students; effective time management; the magic of review

Additionally, other key elements are woven into this programme including:

  • what qualities employers really value in their staff
  • the importance of having a positive “can-do” attitude
  • why taking responsibility for personal development will help prepare them for the world of work

Overall the programme involves students;

  • communicating and working together collaboratively in non-friendship teams, solving problems and completing practical team challenges
  • often developing new friendships and a greater respect for the hidden talents of other team members
